About Lori Pederson
Ms. Pederson is a nationally
recognized consultant, trainer and coach in the area Prior to forming Pederson Consulting in 1998, Ms. Pederson was Director of the Student Development Center at The George Washington University at Mount Vernon College, in which she developed and implemented a re-organization plan for the Student and Academic Support Services’ Division at the Mount Vernon campus. As a professional at The George Washington University for over ten years, she gained extensive experience in management, communication skills, team building, staff and student training and leadership development. As a seasoned professional, coach, workshop designer and facilitator, Ms. Pederson specializes in customizing workshops that fit the unique needs of her clients. She has developed and facilitated workshops on communication styles, group dynamics, listening skills, team building, leadership, conflict resolution, customer service, the use and abuse of email and has designed and facilitated executive and management staff retreats. Her clients include major universities as well as small to medium size businesses in a variety of fields. Ms. Pederson received her B.A. degree from California State University at Northridge in Psychology and her M.A. from The George Washington University in Education and Human Development with a concentration in Human Resource Development. She is also a Licensed Property & Casualty and Life & Health Insurance Agent in the State of Virginia. She continues her education each year through research and attending personal and professional development seminars. Ms. Pederson has a special interest in mentoring and supporting the development and success of women in business. As the co-founder of the Women Building and Investing in Success network, she and her business partner Sheila Dixon, provide women in the Metropolitan DC area with a dynamic opportunity to network and gain support to nurture and grow their business endeavors. Personally, Lori has a passion for cooking and entertaining. She has co-authored two cookbooks, Mom’s Best Recipes and I Can Cook (www.momsbestrecipes.com), which are dedicated to her mother’s joy of cooking.
